The problem we're solving:
The maritime industry faces increasing regulatory pressures to monitor and control pollutant discharges, such as scrubber wash water, sewage, oil, and MARPOL Annex II chemical discharges, particularly in port and coastal areas. These pollutants pose serious threats to marine ecosystems, compromising water quality, harming marine life, and disrupting delicate ecological balances. Strict MARPOL and local regulations impose substantial financial penalties based on vessel tonnage, with expectations of even tighter restrictions in Particularly Sea Sensitive Areas (PSSA) in the near future. Continuous monitoring of water quality parameters—such as pH, PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons), turbidity, and heavy metals—is essential to ensure compliance and protect the marine environment. However, effectively managing these parameters in port and sensitive coastal regions remains a significant challenge for the industry.
Our solution:
Mayıs Electronic is able to offer innovative sensor and monitoring systems designed to enable real-time measurement of critical water quality parameters, tailored specifically for port authorities and government regulatory bodies. Our solutions include advanced PCB design, embedded software, and robust sensor networks that facilitate continuous monitoring of pollutants in compliance with MARPOL and local environmental standards. With sufficient funding, Mayıs Electronic has the technical expertise to develop and deploy these advanced monitoring systems, allowing regulatory bodies to proactively manage pollutant discharges, avoid costly penalties, and establish infrastructure capable of meeting anticipated restrictions in sensitive areas (PSSA). By supporting sustainable maritime practices and regulatory compliance, Mayıs Electronic empowers port authorities and government agencies to protect marine ecosystems effectively.
